Five for poncy tea, just able to stay awake

Started this morning with Jamie presenting me with stewed tea rather than coffee as the machine needed emptying. Tea got poured away, coffee machine got fixed. Only had one cup. He vanished to Tesco’s to get his mother a card. I got up and then walked Sasha for a couple of hours. Got back and then drove out towards Yatton. We actually arrived on time which was a miracle. We then had a very poncy afternoon tea, which was all good. Tea from proper little pots, finger sandwiches, scones etc. The problem was it was three in the afternoon, the body naturally likes to die at this time. It reminded me somewhat of when Martin and I used to go for one drink on a Thursday lunchtime and then couldn’t stay awake in the afternoon. Managed to get through it without nodding off. It was slightly embarrassing that I had to tell the father-in-law that I couldn’t take him up in the R22 due to the seat weight limit, but hey if it works for a target for you then have it as an open invitation, it will be a pleasure to fly you. Almost fell asleep on the way home, had to have a strong coffee. Weather was back to being awful so edited a couple more videos.

Tomorrow may be a strange day, my thoughts and hopes are with you Ally.

I’ve spilled fajita sauce down my t-shirt, it needs to last until Friday

Started this morning how I love to start weekends, in bed. Disappointed that Jamie on his weekend off had to getup to meet his friend Pete at the station. We rarely get to spend any time together in bed when both of us are vaguely awake. I had breakfast in bed, okay, it cost me three quid for Jamie’s bus fair, but it was nice anyway. Read the paper, then spent a good half hour evolving Pokemon. Weather was bloody awful. So the day I get off I have to literally stay in, which is annoying. Managed to walked Sasha and it wasn’t too bad. Dropped mothers shopping off, warned her that I’m pretty much away next weekend so she’ll have to survive off her weight watchers cottage pies and five billion yogurts, if she’s remotely peckish then she can always tucked into the family pack of custard creams. Walked round for a bit but the weather was truly atrocious. Spent the next few hours editing Laverne’s flight video. I’m really behind on the video front, so I guess it was nice to spend time doing this. Dropped Pete back at the station. Did the accounts and had a bath. Off to the mother-in-laws tomorrow, it’s her birthday, glad to see Jamie has got her a card – not.

And this is to a fishy boot (insider joke)

What the fuck is she going to do with all that bloody orange juice? I mean, I bought her two litres of the double concentrate stuff a couple of weeks ago. I reckon she must have the worlds biggest yeast infection with all that yogurt and some sort of weird drink problem. She keeps saying, ‘Oh I only eat weight watchers meals because I’ll get fat’. No love, it’s not the ready meals that make you fat, it’s the fact you live on your own and can get through a family pack of custard creams on a weekly basis that makes you fat.

Work was challenging, I went through my usual hourly mood swings of euphoria and depression. I ended up speaking to an artist which is never a good thing.

Rain all morning, walked Sasha very late in the afternoon, nice and sunny then. Walked to the gym, did Pump, walked home, caught some more Pokemon. Worked far too late. Looking forward to death, pretty standard week really.

What are you going to do with all that yogurt, do you have an infection?

Work was hellish (I’m still looking into stuff now as I’m just not happy with the current results). Another nice day, walked Sasha. Well tugged her around for an hour. Went for a run this evening and then back to work to christ knows when. Got a text from from mother, “You doing my shopping this week?”, is that a question or a demand. Anyway, I put her on speaker to Jamie and let him deal with it, it’s no different to speaking to any other annoying customer. She’s ordered an absolute shit load of yogurts, she have a yeast infection? She then asked when was I going to sort her car battery out, to which I answered, when you can afford to pay for it. She also complained that everything is cheaper in Iceland, I wish she’d fucking go there and get lost in a chest freezer, no doubt she’d wake up in ten years to piss me off after being cryogenically frozen with a bag of peas.

Must admit I’m getting a bit bored of F1

Started work earlyish. Started with a fun bug. Finished with trying to work out the offset of centroid versus centre. Yep, that was the fun of my day. Took Sasha out, wasn’t long as I had just too much work to do. I managed to pop out this evening and pick up some growlith’s, can evolve them now. Now sat down and put the last GP on, must admit it has me bored rigid, I just don’t find it interests me anymore.

Lovely hour at Severn Beach

Work was, well, frustrating and very very long. A beautiful day though. Walked Sasha, it was very hot. Managed to take a break from work and drove up to Severn Beach. Okay, there was a reason, it was a nest location for a couple of Pokemon I need to evolve. I spent just over an hour walking up and down the sea front. It was a beautiful view watching the sun set behind the Severn Bridge. And yes, I got the required Pokemon….

Will I miss you when you’re gone? Probably not

I’m not going to talk about work, lets just say it was awful to a point. I was being hit over the head with a mallet again, there is only so many times you can do this before I won’t get back up again, I’m not a cartoon character. I cured one bug and did some profiling, still managed a ten hour day. And what a beautiful day it was to. Took Sasha out lunchtime, but it was very hot. Popped out for a little bit this evening and it was much more pleasant. Mother keeps sending me text messages, it’s her new form of annoyance. I couldn’t give a shit you’ve paid nineteen pounds into my account, I’d just like the other three hundred as well. Then I get another one, ‘I want to get my car back on the road before I pull my hair out. It will save cutting it.’ Multiple digs in that one. Sometimes I wished I lived far far away. I look forward to how she’s going to pay for the battery and tyre. I would pay for it and some people would say I should, but over the years she’s made very little effort to pay anyone, including credit card companies. She has a house full of assets, about time she started to get rid of some.

Well I must admit, I’ve had quite a nice weekend

Started off this morning in more of a relaxed state. Fed everyone and then fed myself. Read the papers, drank coffee. Took Sasha out for a walk. Had a light lunch and then walked around sixteen miles, catching Pokemon. Nice weather. Got back home, had a shower, then we walked to The Swan and had probably a rather mediocre meal, which was somewhat disappointing for almost a ton. Walked home, took out a Pokemon gym. Can’t complain. Other than my 10Km egg only yielded a fucking Jinx.

When you’re not happy with a takeoff but get to over analyse it afterwards

Had a nice relaxing start to the day in bed. Had coffee and cereal. Read the paper. But couldn’t procrastinate for too long as I had an important passenger. Anya arrived on time. I do like prompt people, even though I could never be like that myself. We departed for Staverton. I gave my standard safety briefing, ‘Don’t touch anything and don’t point a camera in my direction as it may reflect the sun’. I could go into the brace position and emergency exits, but lets be honest, an engine failure in an R22 is a rare event, surviving and engine failure in an R22 is an even rarer event, if the hamster stops running, I’ve got very little time to react. We managed to get the aircraft a bit early so started up and headed out. Now, Staverton is having some work done at heli-south so you can’t fly over it. Two seven was the active runway but the wind was coming from 330. I crabbed it as much as I could but I ended up doing a crosswind takeoff and turning downwind at only about three hundred feet. The rest of the flight was uneventful, flew to the south, across to Cinderford and then up to Ross-On-Wye. Then via Tewksbury back to Gloucester. Drove back home, had a light lunch and then drove into town. Spent the next few hours walking into town, through the harbour and headed towards the balloon fiesta. Unfortunately the route to it was all blocked off. So I ended up going via a park in Bedminster and back to the centre. Walked back towards the car. Texted Ben that I was in the vicinity, we met up for a pint. Discussed the 27 takeoff issue, apparently I did exactly the right thing and compromises sometimes have to be made, I’ll make a good pilot yet.

So now I have to bill my mother, time for a summons?

Can’t complain about work today, it was tough going, but got stuff done with very few interruptions, so that always counts as a good day. Tanner left first thing this morning. I was hoping perhaps then I could spend some time with Jamie, but he’s working this weekend and then next weekend he’s got someone else over. We may get a day together at some point. Nice day today, although it threatened rain this evening. Walked Sasha, walked to Pump, Laverne is away at the moment so Nick did it, so everything was out of time with the music as normal.

I need to go through last weeks shopping list and work out what mother owes me. I also need to go through the B&Q receipts to work out what she owes me there as well. Apparently she’s been moaning that the bathroom is cold and that she wants a full enclosure. Ungrateful bitch, she’ll need to pay me what she owes me or I’ll start removing and selling stuff from her house.
