“I couldn’t shove it up there fast enough”

Started at a reasonable hour again. Worked all the way through until about four. With the online team today, was quite fun configuring my network to fall over with massive packet loss and large latency. Went for a run for an hour, came back and had a shower. Did a bit more. Painted the door frame. Didn’t do much work on Faithless. Ate. Watched Big Brother. Really liking Katie Price, she’s very down to earth and loved her description of what she did to her ex.

Insomnia

So stated work almost on time. Worked through until lunchtime. The cupboard doors arrived, all okay. Drove over to the stonemasons and picked up the marble vanity top. Looks very nice, is bloody heavy. Came back and worked until early evening. Went to Combat. Came back and did another hour. Then thought I’d work on a different piece of music, so went for the riff out of ‘Insomnia’ by Faithless. This is a rather tricky piece and needs to be played fast with a very strange rhythm. It’s coming on, but needs a lot of practice.

Almost got caught out in my own downwash

So this morning started fairly normally with breakfast and coffee. Then soon up to Staverton, for part two of the weekend. I got into it fairly slowly and calmly. We took off and did an auto on the first circuit then a normal second circuit. James got out, then I had an hour to play by myself in quarter of a million quids worth of helicopter. I started off with a couple of circuits, the first one was way off for landing, second was absolutely bang on. Then I did some hovering, knocked out a couple more circuits, then more hovering. Finally finished off with two circuits. On the last one I got caught out by a cross wind, which suddenly then turned behind me. I was in serious vortex ring territory and everything was shaking. But knowing the signs I got out of it and just increased the forward velocity, scary for a bit, but recovered nicely. Today I was in charge of the helicopter, it was no longer in charge of me. Before I knew it, my hour was up. Drove back, had lunch, got petrol. Then we took the dogs out to the field. Came back and did a video for Jamie’s channel. Changed the bed. Had a bath. Now waiting for Jamie to cook for me, could be interesting.

Perez Hilton some gays would love you, as you’re a giant cock

Started off far too early delivering Jamie and his mate to the station. Went back to bed, then actually woke up very late. Had to belt down breakfast and coffee then drive up to Staverton. I’d already texted Captain James and said I didn’t want to do solo today. So we spent an hour flying round and doing a couple of really fun confined area landings, on grass mounds in the middle of flooded fields. Did a couple of circuits and an auto. Will go back tomorrow now to do more solo. Drove back, had lunch, painted the bathroom door and frame. Walked the dogs. Went to the tip, then went to B&Q, got bolts for door handles, and a new bit of conti for the shelf. Came back and practiced on keyboard. Got a new book which is quite heavy on theory, suddenly something I didn’t quite get about key structure when I was twelve has now suddenly clicked. So spent and hour doing major / minor keys all over the place, just kind of jamming, which was fun. Did the accounts, had a shower.

The caught up with Big Brother, oh my god, Perez, you are such a complete cock. And I love Katie Hopkins, need to follow on Twitter.

Its good to see I can please few of the people very little of the time

Started at 10AM, couldn’t really be arsed any earlier. Worked on a few bugs and the mighty grass once again. At least a couple of people liked what I was doing, but the majority wondered why I was doing it. Invoice arrived from the granite place, I gave them a call and it’s ready for collection. So that’s the last item on the list apart from a couple of bolts. Went to Pump, did a session with Laverne, which will be the last for a couple of months. I wish her all the best, I’m sure she will be fine. Came back to find a guest, who was expected. Already assaulted by the dogs. Had a quick clean up and then we went to the appalling pub for dinner.

I’m supposed to be flying tomorrow, but still a bit weather dependant. I still have painting to do.

So the doors have been dispatch (Not the Jim Morrison kind)

Okay, so started at 10AM. But did works through till gone three. Walked the dog. Was debating about going for a run, but the weather has been awful, so rang up and enquired about Spin, no problem with availability there. Did a few more hours and then went to Spin. Fairly exhausting. Came back and did another hour. All on CPU stuff. Then on with music practice, going quite well. Lang Ling or whatever his name is, has nothing to worry about. Got an email about doors, will be delivered on Monday.

So that’s the blinds ordered

Work was delayed by an hour so I could have a lie in. Well I did get up at 6:20 to take Dillon to daycare. So started at 10. Spent a long time running CPU profiles, it ain’t the most exciting thing in the world, but quite productive. Jamie has the week off, so spent all morning in bed just like he’s done all week. He just managed to get up in time for the blind man to come. That’s a man who sells blinds, he didn’t turn up with a dog to tune my piano. Although I’ve never seen a dog tune a piano. I don’t even have a piano. Anyway, he turned up and moaned that he couldn’t measure anything as it wasn’t tiled yet. He seemed to have the idea that I wanted the blind inside the window box, which was something I never even considered. After I said that I wanted it outside he settled down and buggered off for some pattern books. By the time he’d measured everything we’d chosen the design. I think he was a bit shocked by the fact that I just don’t have time to piss about with these things. It was costing me more to stand their while he was pissing about with paperwork than the damn things cost. Oh they weren’t cheap. But I’d done a bit of research and to be honest I couldn’t be assed with buying some cheap shit off some site then have to cut it down and try and screw it to tiles. They can install it. If they fuck it up I’ll sue their ass. Right. That just leaves, two bolts, two doors, two drawer fronts and a granite top. And some painting. And some rubbish disposal. Went to Pump. Worked on my arms. Weights coming back up again now. Came back and did my keyboard practice. Working on left hand chords. Which as they have an inversion are a real pain in the ass. Thankfully what I learnt when I was about twelve has come back to me and I’m having no problem reading music whatsoever. It’s getting there, it’s just quite difficult. I think I’ll be on ‘Bye bye love’ for the foreseeable future. But now I’m doing it without cheating and using the single finger coords. It’s odd, as now ‘Are friends electric’ I can now play without even thinking about it, plus improvise on top of it which is quite fun. Bought Ableton Intro, as it was the last day of the sale. So thats sorted now. Looking at a software VST plug-in, as I still can’t get the sound I’m really after.

Perez, you are a complete cock

Wasn’t feeling it this morning. Had a bit of a stomach ache, stayed in bed for a couple of hours. It did pass. Work was dull, mainly tracing bugs again. Went for a run in the afternoon. Came back and did a few more hours. Only did about six today in total, that’ll make up for last weeks madness. The grout and insulation boards arrived. That just leaves the cupboard doors, two bolts and the granite worktop. Had a shower and then settled down to more ‘Bye bye love’. Okay, getting the hang of it now, both hands. Once I’ve mastered it I think I’ll need to move away from fingered cords and do them properly. Also worked on a couple of other tunes. It’s quite fatiguing and hard work, if enjoyable when it starts to become vaguely recognisable. Watched Celeb BB. God Perez is really getting on my tits, he’s such an attention seeking twat. I’m beginning to like Katie more and more though. It’s going to be an interesting one.

Bye bye love

Started this morning almost on time. Today was all about bugs, all other peoples. Looking through crash dumps. Dull stuff. Took a break of about ten minutes and that was it. Finished at twenty past five. Finished putting the annotations on another video. Then went to the gym and did Combat. No new people, although the car park was full. Came back and unblocked the sink. Jamie managed to gunge it up with fat. Then filled it with bleach, lovely. Then he went out. I finally set up the synth and the keyboard on the stand. Sat down and played around a bit. Finally got into the left and right hand thing and spent about twenty minutes trying to play ‘Bye bye love’. It’s actually quite tricky, I will master it soon though.

Getting well into this years celeb BB

Started morning with coffee and feeding dogs. Then it was straight on to scraping off paint. Thankfully that really was the last of it. Then cleaned it all up, masking tape and then on with the primer/undercoat. When that was all done I went out for a run. Came back and fitted the new lock in the bathroom door, took quite a while to chisel it all out. Then sanded down the door. Everything now is ready for top coats. Had a bath. Jamie is now cooking. Haven’t done anything on my music room.

Okay, so celeb BB. I haven’t really watched it since I spent five glorious hours watching Kenzie sleeping about ten years ago. But there was just something intriguing about this years intake. There’s Katie Hopkins, who I think I share probably quite a lot of view with, she tells it like it is. I can see Nigel Ferage looking her up on her exit. Then there’s Ken, well, not sure if he’s just playing it up or if he is a truly racist bigot. And we are only on day three. This is going to be a good one I’m sure.
